September 14, 1938 – November 27, 2010

Frances P. Lithgow passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in New York and the rebel of three sisters, she married young and raised 5 loving children. She touched the lives of many by being a supportive and giving friend and a home health aid to the frail.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary and Helen; her children, Douglas, Donald, Susan, Richard and Gene; and 16 grandchildren.

Frances was known for her genuine smile, her good counsel and her strong shoulder to those in need. Her spiritual journey in life led her to international travels and social inquiry. She was well read on all the religions of the world and enjoyed a conversation with nearly everyone she met on nearly any topic. People came away from a “Frances encounter” feeling special and wanting to come back for more.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Frances can be made to The Morris Animal Foundation at www.morrisanimalfoundation.org (then click on “donate”). This is Betty White’s foundation of choice in her support of animal needs and Frances was a fan and a supporter.

There will be a Celebration Memorial on February 20th, 2011 from noon to 4pm at The Castaway Restaurant, 1250 Harvard Rd., Burbank. If you plan to attend, please contact her daughter-in-law, Diana Lithgow at LithgowNP@aol.com.
