May 26, 1934 – December 15, 2010

Ray was born to James and Ella Perkins in Hollywood, California on May 26, 1934. He was a graduate of Marshall High School, and a hairstylist in Glendale since 1959.

Ray was a loving husband to Marilynne Ellis Perkins for 30 years. He was an amazing father to Michael Perkins, Laurie Payne, Kim Perkins-Miller, and Kevin Ellis, as well as their spouses Helen Perkins, Tony Payne, Steve Miller, and Anabella Ellis. He was the most fun loving grandfather to Matthew Payne, Michael Payne, Amber Perkins, Ella Perkins, Charlie Miller and David Ellis.

Ray was a proud member and past President of the Jewel City Kiwanis Club of Glendale and a member of the Glendale Elks Lodge 1289. He was an avid lover of all sports, but golf was nearest and dearest to his heart. He loved traveling, great wine, and spending time with family and friends. To know him was to love him. He was the most magnetic man, a lover of life, which he lived to the fullest, and he will truly be missed.

He passed away from complications of pneumonia. A celebration of his life will be held in January.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glendale Elks Lodge would be greatly appreciated.
