Share

The Youth, Leadership and the Future Conference is scheduled for 8 a.m. Jan. 12 at Glendale Community College. The 26th annual Conference matches 100 high school students from the Glendale, Burbank and La Cañada school districts with adults from the various communities. Participants discuss characteristics of effective leaders and ethical scenarios drawn from the experiences of the districts’ student leadership team and news headlines.

This year’s program begins with a keynote address by John Nicoll, deputy chief executive officer, County of Ventura, then divides into breakout rooms for facilitated small group discussions. Participants will re-convene in the large group for lunch to share their experiences.

Adults interested in participating should contact Susan Hunt at (818) 241-3111, Ext. 566, shunt@gusd.net, or Ardy Khassakian at (818) 548-2090, akassakhanian@ci.glendale.ca.us.
