Caltrans announces nighttime I-5 closures

Share

The California Department of Transportation today announced plans to close parts of the southbound Golden State Freeway (I-5) on Monday and Tuesday night while crews work on connector construction. The impacted freeway segment is about one mile.

The closures will impact roughly one mile of southbound I-5 from Osborne Street to the Hollywood (170) Freeway from midnight tonight to 4 a.m. Tuesday, and then again from midnight Jan. 11 to 4 a.m. Jan. 12.

Caltrans will post detour signs, and officials warned that the closures could change.

The night work is part of a massive project to add lanes to a perpetually congested part of the I-5 network.
