Police seek leads in tech firm burglary

Glendale police are seeking the public’s help in identifying four men who allegedly burglarized a technology research and consulting firm overnight on Jan. 3.

Video surveillance cameras caught grainy images of the men as they left Applied Minds Inc. at 1311 Grand Central Ave., allegedly stealing computers, projectors and other technology equipment, according to a crime bulletin released by Glendale police today.

The men, all of them wearing caps and dressed in dark-colored street clothes, propped open the doors of the business to haul the equipment out. The burglary took place between 7:45 p.m. Jan. 3 and 1:15 a.m. Jan. 4, according to police.

Applied Minds was reportedly formed more than a decade ago by ex-Disney Imagineers to provide tech services to companies including General Motors, Intel, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin.

A representative for the firm could not be reached for comment.

Anyone with information on the burglary may call Glendale Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
