Mary Jane Loper

Mary Jane Loper, 83, long-time Burbank resident, died in Palm Springs on Jan. 25 among family and friends.  Those who knew her will remember her as an attorney, a counseling psychologist, and most importantly to her, as Master Food Preserver who judged at county fairs and volunteered her expertise to the Hollywood Growers’ Market almost every Sunday for 16 years.   She was featured on “Visiting … with Huell Howser” about her judging the SPAM contest at the L.A. County Fair in 1999.  She will be greatly missed by her son Wesley, son-in-law Richard, daughter Gai, cat Hershey, dog Chita, and the many people whose lives she touched.
