Hoover presents service awards

Congratulations to PTSA Honorary Service Award recipients: Donald Ashman, Homa Javidan, Addora Beall, Diana Zelezny, Mitch Zelezny, Kathy Yepez and all Hoover volunteers.

Tea with the Principal is from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, followed by a tour of the science labs.

Hoover’s musical theater presents “Into the Woods” at 7 p.m. March 3 to 7 in the auditorium with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

Teen Physical & Mental Health is the topic of Hoover’s next PTSA meeting at 7 p.m. March 14 in room 12101.

Toll Middle School

The Sixth Grade Awards Breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria. There will be a PTA meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium. A Toll Executive Board Meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. March 10 in Room 1202. The annual PTA election meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 24 in the auditorium.

Balboa Elementary

Balboa paired with the American Heart Assn. for Jump for Heart. The kickoff last week featured the Harlem Globetrotters. Thanks to event organizers Myrna Lau and Lisa Deyell. Balboa will celebrate Founders Day at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium. The theme is “Celebrating the Stars of Balboa.” The Everybody Loves Reading event runs from 8 to 10 a.m. March 18.

Franklin Elementary

Franklin’s Father Daughter Dance again proved what a pleasure it is seeing little girls dressed up with their proud daddies. Family Reading Night, beginning at 6:30 p.m. March 8 in the auditorium, kicks off Franklin’s Book Fair event, which continues through March 11. There will be a reading workshop prior to Family Reading Night beginning at 6 p.m.

Franklin has started a Safe Routes to School program. If you are interested in being a part of the traffic safety solution, contact the front office.

Jefferson Elementary

Jefferson celebrates Founder’s Day at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium by giving Honorary Service and other awards to more than 100 parent volunteers. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jefferson will hold a Flag Ceremony in the auditorium. Family Reading Night is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 10. Community members are invited to read to children in the classrooms. After reading, everyone’s invited to the auditorium for milk, cookies and coffee. There will be a PTA meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 17 in the auditorium.

Mark Keppel Elementary

Please support the Mark Keppel PTA by buying cookie dough and other fabulous products. The sale begins Friday and lasts only 10 days. Family Reading Night will be March 4. Details will be available at the front office.
