January 17, 1914 – February 15, 2011

Vadra Day passed away on the morning of February 15, 2011. Her generosity to friends and family plus her wonderful pies, tacos, peanut butter and chocolate Special K bars, and countless other wonderful meals at her home will be warmly remembered and greatly missed.

Vadra was born in Los Angeles and was the only child of Charles & Blanche Gilbert. Vadra moved to Glendale in 1947 where she resided in the same home for 56 years. Vadra was a beautician in the Kenneth Village for over 50 years. Her clientele were not only her customers but her dearest friends. Vadra was a longtime member of Grandview Presbyterian Church.

Vadra is survived by her sons, Bob Day and his wife Maria; Roger Day and his wife Nancy; grandchildren, Kellie Fackrell and her husband Tom; Cori Day and her husband Ted Hiatt; Jaime Lopez and her husband Jeff; Bryan Day; Lori Mc Kelvey and her husband T Jay; great grandchildren, Cash, Mia, and Ava Lopez; Hannah and Sophie Fackrell, Calvin Hiatt, Makayla, Dylan, Tanner, and Shane Mc Kelvey. “Drader”, as all the grandkids called her, gave unconditional love and support to all her grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Febraury 28th at 11:00 a.m. Grandview Presbyterian Church, 1130 Ruberta Ave., Glendale, CA.
