A UCLA alum, Satoorian has lived in Glendale for 31 years. His two daughters graduated from Crescenta Valley High School, and he has chaired for the past eight years the Davidian-Mariamian Educational Foundation, which provides after-school educational services to local youth.

Why are you running for school board?

I am running for school board to offer my experience and expertise as a CPA for 25 years, to better plan and manage the budget of our school district. We need to spend every penny we get for the schools conservatively.

What does the district need to improve on?

The district needs to improve and harmonize the relations between the school board and teachers union; we can problem solve through positive communication and cooperation.

What is your stance on Measure S, and why?

Measure S can be a much-needed help for our schools. It can improve infrastructure and provide state-of-the-art classrooms. We need the money now — further delays will set back our future growth.
