Woman dies after leaping from parking structure

A 64-year-old Tujunga woman who jumped from a five-story Glendale Galleria parking structure died from her injuries at a hospital Tuesday evening, police said.

Brooke Moyer was pronounced dead about 6:10 p.m. Tuesday at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center after having jumped earlier that day from the Galleria parking structure adjacent to Nordstrom, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

She suffered several broken bones to her lower body after falling 52 feet to a concrete sidewalk on Central Avenue, he said.

Two witnesses, including a mall security guard, reported seeing Moyer leap from the structure just south of Broadway at about 3:51 p.m., Lorenz said.

Police found a suicide note inside Moyer’s car, which was parked in the same structure.
