Alvie Reuben Partlow

Alvie Reuben Partlow was born February 26, 1921, in Kansas, Illinois, and went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2011.

Alvie loved sports and was co-captain of his high school football team, as well as lettering in basketball and track. He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII as a carpenters mate. Alvie married Anna Mary on May 13, 1944, in Gary, Indiana. After moving to Los Angeles, California, he studied at USC, and then was employed by the movie studios building sets. He later joined the LA City Schools in the Architectural and Building Department and became a building inspector and supervisor over major construction jobs for the School System. An avid golfer, he belonged to Brookside Golf Club for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mary Partlow, his daughter Suzanne Earley, and son-in-law, John Earley, his grandchildren, Jaret Earley, and Laura Thomas, and 4 great grandchildren.

An usher, and a founding member of Saint James the Less Catholic Church in La Crescenta, Alvie lived his faith as a kind and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many in the community.

Visitation will be Friday April 1, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crippen Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at Saint James the Less Catholic Church Saturday at 11:00 a.m. on April 2, 2011, to be followed by Interment at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
