Glendale firefighters on Thursday were called in to assist a 23-year-old Glendale man who was apparently who tired to continue walking after hiking barefoot at Brand Park, officials said.

Firefighters arrived at the park after David Jamil was reported missing, but later reached him about 1:24 p.m. on one of the park’s trails, officials said.

They wrapped his feet and helped him walk down the trail.

Officials said Jamil had trouble walking down by himself because he was barefoot and his feet hurt.

The Fire Department deploys two engines, a truck, a paramedic, the Urban Search and Rescue team and a battalion chief to all mountain rescue calls.
