Brace yourself for road closures

Miles of freeway lanes and ramps will be closed in Glendale and Burbank during the coming months as several projects get underway to construct carpool lanes in each direction along the Golden State (5) Freeway between the Hollywood (170) Freeway and Buena Vista Street in Burbank.

There also will be lane closures on city streets as other road projects get under way.

Below is a list of scheduled road closures for the coming week, according to city and state transportation officials.

Golden State (5) Freeway

Note: The northbound Hollywood Way off-ramp will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday through spring 2012. A bridge abutment is being built.

Planned closures through Friday:

Up to four northbound lanes from the 134 Fwy. to Burbank Blvd., 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Up to four southbound lanes from Burbank Blvd. to the 134 Fwy., 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Northbound I-5 connector to westbound 134 Fwy., 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Southbound I-5 connector to eastbound 134 Fwy., 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Northbound Colorado Blvd. on-ramp, 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Northbound and southbound Western Ave. on- and off-ramps, 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Northbound and southbound Alameda Ave. on- and off-ramps, 9 pm. - 6 a.m.

Northbound and southbound Olive Ave. on- and off-ramps, 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Up to two northbound lanes from Cohasset St. to Sunland Blvd., from 9 - 11:59 p.m. and 5 - 6 a.m.

Up to three northbound lanes from Cohasset St. to Sunland Blvd., 11:59 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Northbound Sunland Blvd. on-and off-ramps, 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Northbound Glenoaks Blvd. off-ramp, 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Up to two northbound lanes from 170 Fwy. to Route 118, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound Terra Bella St. off-ramp, 7 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Northbound Paxton St. off-ramp, 8 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Up to four southbound lanes from Route 118 to 170 Fwy., 8 p.m.- 6 a.m.

Foothill Blvd., from Lowell Ave. to Pennsylvania Ave. (through April 29)

Upgrades to 13 traffic signals along Glenoaks Blvd., from Harvey Dr. to Western Ave. (through May)

Burbank surface streets

Concrete repairs, with some parking lane closures, are slated this week on:

N. Niagara St., from Chandler Blvd. to Clark Ave.

Rosemary Lane., from Clark Ave. to Verdugo Ave.

N. Catalina St., from Magnolia Blvd. to Clark Ave.

Florence St., from Burbank Blvd. to Chandler Blvd.

Florence St., from Magnolia Blvd. to Verdugo Ave.

N. Naomi St., from Magnolia Blvd. to Verdugo Ave.

N. Brighton St., from Chandler Blvd. to Magnolia Blvd.
