Mary McMillen
Longtime Burbank resident, Mary McMillen, passed away peacefully April 1, 2011. Born in Los Angeles in 1914, Mary was raised in Hollywood and attended Hollywood High School graduating in the winter class of 1933. While attending LA City College she met her future husband George. They married in July 1938 and lived in South Los Angeles and Hollywood until buying their home in Burbank in 1950. Mary was a very proud longtime volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital since 1974 and still active until October 2010. Mary was also an early member of the Valley Organ Society and active in card clubs and her church circles. Mary was preceded in death by George in 2007. Survivors include her son Don and his wife, Fran of Reno, Nevada and another son, Doug of Burbank; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and extended family of cousins in England. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Magnolia Park Methodist church in Burbank, Saturday, May 14th at 2p.m.
