Taste of Glendale is May 11
A Taste of Downtown Glendale is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 11. This year, 40 restaurants on Brand Boulevard will be participating — from Harvest Inn at the north end to the Americana at the south end. There will also be an Elvis impersonator singing his heart out!
Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. All proceeds go to Glendale Healthy Kids to support uninsured students in kindergarten through 12th grade and assist them in obtaining access to medical, dental, vision and mental health care. Mountain Avenue Elementary
Mountain Avenue Committed to Kids is holding its Casino Night from 6 to 9 p.m. May 14 at the Thursday Club in La Canada Flintridge. Tickets are $50 and includes dinner, live and silent auction and gaming tables.
Instrumental Music Concerts will be held throughout the morning of May 18 in the auditorium.
Parent volunteers will be honored at the Flag Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. May 20 on the playground.
Valley View Elementary
Open House, In-N-Out Dinner and Silent Auction begin at 5:30 p.m. May 18 in the auditorium. Enjoy dinner, visit classrooms and help raise funds for the PTA. More information is being sent home in Thursday Folders.
On May 20, fifth-graders will participate in Colonial Day activities in the auditorium, and fourth-graders will re-enact a day in the life of an early California miner at Gold Rush Day. Information is being distributed by classroom teachers.
The Singing Eaglets will perform for students and parents throughout the day on May 24.
The PTA meeting is at 6:30 p.m. May 27 in the auditorium.
Lincoln Elementary
STAR testing is May 2 through 12. Parents are asked to make sure their students sleep well and eat a healthy breakfast!
The PTA meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium.
The Spring Spectacular is May 13 on the playground. This event includes games, rides, fun activities and lots of prizes. More information is available by calling the school office.
The Foundation meeting is at 7 p.m. May 19 in the auditorium.
Rosemont Middle
Lunch on the Lawn is a chance for parents to eat with their kids and will be held at 12:30 p.m. May 13 on the middle field lawn. Parents are asked to bring lunch for their student and to enter through the gate at Los Olivos and Raymond Streets.
