Man arrested after parking structure scuffle

A 27-year-old Glendale man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a motorist, drove his pickup truck through a parking gate at the Americana at Brand and led police on a short pursuit, officials said.

Bryan Sawicki was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, evading police, vandalism and reckless driving, according to Glendale police reports.

A shopper told police that Sawicki was yelling inside an Americana at Brand parking structure elevator before he reportedly walked over to his car and also punched it.

Witnesses also told police Sawicki was allegedly speeding inside the parking structure, where he became aggressive after a motorist honked her horn because she feared he might strike her car.

Sawicki allegedly got out of Ford truck and kicked and punched her car before speeding away, according to police reports.

Police estimated damage to the vehicle at $1,000.

Sawicki allegedly drove through a parking gate at the mall, causing about $800 in damage. Surveillance cameras filmed the incident.

Officers spotted Sawicki allegedly driving at a high rate of speed on North Central Avenue and tried to pull him over, but according to police reports, he continued driving and turned eastbound onto Broadway.

He eventually stopped inside a parking structure on the 100 block of West Broadway, where he was arrested.
