SOUTH GLENDALE — Police are searching for a pair of robbers who stole cash and an iPhone at gunpoint Friday night from two men walking to their car, officials said.

The men were walking to their parked car in the Blockbuster Video lot on the 800 block of East Colorado Street about 11:02 p.m. when they were approached, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

After brandishing a handgun, the men robbed the victims of their cash and the cell phone and fled on foot, Lorenz said.

Police issued a crime broadcast to search for the suspects but they were not able to find them.

Another robbery was reported the same day at about 8:42 p.m. on East Cypress Street and South Glendale Avenue, but information on that incident, including whether it was related, was not immediately available.

The robbers were described as Latino men who were stocky and in their mid-to-late 20s.

The gunman, who was bald and about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wore a dark-colored jacket over a dark T-shirt. He also wore a bandana over his face, according to police.

Anyone with details about the robbery may call the Glendale Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
