Helen Marie Hanson (Yerkes) was escorted home to Jesus by the angels she always loved. She was born in Jerome, Idaho, April 14, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Victor F. Hanson, and her son Harry H. Hanson of Bremerton, Washington. Helen is survived by her Children and their wives, Victor and Mercidita Hanson, Thomas and Eva Hanson and Carol and Joe Huerta. Helen has eight grandchildren to whom she was the best grandmother ever. They are Dawn, Danielle, Mike, Lori, Harry Jr., Helen Marie Hanson and Tony and Tom Huerta. She also has eight great grandchildren. She leaves behind her best friend of 79 years Nellie Hatcher. She was very active in the P.T.A, serving as president of two schools. Helen was also very active in her church, teaching Sunday School and working on various charity organizations. She enjoyed doing puzzles with her son in law and daily knitting and reading while always encouraging and making those around her laugh and feel loved. Helen cared for everyone she came in touch with and especially the wonderful people at Serenity House in Santa Barbara where she was loved and cared for these last 3 months.

Helen and her family have been cared for by the Free Methodist Church of Santa Barbara who made her transition to heaven loving and peaceful. The family would also like to thank Dr. Joel Brandt and his staff who also took amazing care of her for the last 10 years while she resided in Santa Barbara. She will be missed by all who knew her but loved and remembered forever by her family and friends.

Services will be 12:30, Friday the 10th of June, at the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.
