City manager to address homeowners

City Manager Jim Starbird is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the 2011 annual meeting of Northwest Glendale Homeowners Assn. on Wednesday.

Starbird is slated to discuss Glendale’s $18-million budget shortfall and the steps being taken to close the gap. He will also take questions from the audience.

Peter Fuad, president of the association, said in a statement that the meeting would allow Starbird to “offer his insights and experience in grappling with reduced revenues, while endeavoring to maintain important city services.”

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Brand Library, 1601 W. Mountain St., and is open to non-members.
