NORTHWEST GLENDALE — A 25-year-old Glendale woman was arrested Saturday night for allegedly using her SUV to attack her ex-boyfriend twice in a Smart & Final parking lot because he made a disparaging remark about her mother, police said.

Witnesses told police that Tangik Khodaverdian allegedly drove into the lot on Glenoaks Boulevard at about 8:55 p.m. and slammed her vehicle into her ex-boyfriend at about 30 mph, according to Glendale police reports.

The ex-boyfriend, Ludvig Gharabeigi, was sitting by himself at the time on a brick wall. He was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries to his legs and back, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

Khodaverdian’s SUV pinned Gharabeigi against the wall, according to reports.

Gharabeigi, 32, of Burbank managed to get on his feet and snap a photograph of the SUV’s license plate number with his cell phone, witnesses told police.

But as he took the photograph about 10 feet away from the SUV, witnesses said Khodaverdian allegedly put the SUV in reverse, sped toward him and knocked him to the ground again.

Witnesses told police that after hitting Gharabeigi the second time, Khodaverdian fled the parking lot in the SUV.

A witness tried following Khodaverdian, but got lost and returned to the parking lot.

Witnesses put Gharabeigi in their car and drove him to his apartment.

Police tracked down Khodaverdian at her home on the 1000 block of Raymond Avenue, where officers reported several hand prints and a foot print on the bumper and hood of her SUV.

Khodaverdian told police that she and her friend returned to the lot a few minutes after Gharabeigi yelled imprecations about her mother and “parked near his feet.”

Khodaverdian claimed that she only backed into him when she noticed he was snapping a photograph of her license plate because she is scared of him.

Police arrested Khodaverdian on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
