Marjorie Nikola

Marjorie Nikola died on Thursday, July 7th, 2011, peacefully in her home. She is survived by her daughters Sheryl and husband Mark, Michele and husband Wayne, her son, Jeff and wife Adele and grandchildren Glade, Cody, Stacia, Tiffany and Andrew.

Marge’s life was not always easy, but it was certainly rich. She was born in Stuebenville, Ohio, February 15th, 1932. One of her earlier memories was being in the car with her family, driving out to California when a yellow jacket attacked her and her peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

In her teenage years her family settled in Glendale, California where she graduated from Glendale High School. Marjorie married Donald Talmadge and had 3 children. After her divorce, Marjorie went back into the work force and continued to raise her children as a single mother.

Marge loved her work in the Glendale Unified School System and had many friendships from her years working at many schools. She was a member of the Leisure Club which gave her opportunities for lots of fun activities, including a hot air balloon ride in Arizona.

Marge also loved to volunteer her time at Verdugo Hills Hospital and she had recently received a nice card recognizing her for over 6,000 hours. She loved her dogs, Muppet and Robbie, and they will miss her greatly.

A celebration memorial will be held for Marjorie on July 29th at the Crescenta Valley Methodist Church at 4PM with reception to follow.
