Alleged car attack gets man arrested

GLENDALE — A Los Angeles man was arrested for vandalism this week as his ex-girlfriend was giving birth at Glendale Memorial Hospital. Police say he stomped on her current boyfriend’s car and ripped the bumper off of it.

Victor Solis, 18, was taken into custody about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of vandalism after he and his friend, Cristobal Gonzalez, allegedly went to Glendale Memorial Hospital to see his former girlfriend, according to police reports.

Gonzalez, 21, who was also arrested on suspicion of vandalism.

Police said the pair had a few beers before arriving at the hospital, where Solis allegedly claimed to be the baby’s father and demanded to see his ex-girlfriend.

Hospital security guards asked Solis and Gonzalez to leave the building when they allegedly became aggressive.

Outside the hospital, the pair reportedly took their anger out on the boyfriend’s Mitsubishi, which was parked on a hospital lot.

Officers stopped the pair in their Honda at West Cypress Street and San Fernando Road, where they allegedly admitted to damaging the boyfriend’s car, according to police reports.

Damage to the Mitsubishi was estimated at $1,000.
