Tdap shots required in schools

Share

For parents who may have still missed it, take note: For the 2011-12 school year, all students entering the seventh through 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap booster shot, which immunizes against whooping cough.

If a child has received one dose of Tdap vaccine after age 7, the requirement is met. Please submit proof of vaccination to the school as all students, including continuing students, must show proof of Tdap before being allowed to start school.

Additional information is at www.ShotsForSchool.org. Updates regarding this law within Glendale public schools will be posted on the district website at www.gusd.net or contact Linda Burlison at (818) 241-3111, Ext. 407.
