Citing budget cut, Social Security office in Glendale to reduce hours

Hours at the Social Security office in Glendale will be reduced by 30 minutes each weekday starting Aug. 15, federal officials announced Wednesday.

The Social Security Administration cited a $1-billion budget cut in announcing the move. The public service windows will be closed at 3:30 p.m. each day instead of the typical 4 p.m. so that workers can complete their consultations during that period and not incur overtime, according to the administration.
