Deputies search for pair involved in gunpoint robbery in La Cañada

Authorities are searching for two men who robbed a 19-year-old man Tuesday in La Cañada Flintridge at gunpoint.

The men -- described as 18 and 20 years old -- made off with the victim’s tennis racket and cell phone during the robbery that occurred at 10:40 p.m. on Castle Road just north of Foothill Boulevard.

No injuries were reported.

One the men pointed the gun at the victim’s head, while the other grabbed the racket and phone. The pair then fled in a dark-colored compact car westbound on Foothill, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

One suspect was described as wearing a black shirt, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and as weighing about 185 pounds. The barrel of his handgun had a red tip and may have been a replica or toy gun, according to the sheriff’s department.The second suspect was described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and as weighing 140 pounds.
