Ida Mahala McAneny

Ida Mahala McAneny was born to WIlliam and Ida Wakefield on August 22, 1918, the fifth of seven children, in St. Peter, Minnesota. She was active in her church and loved choir and hymn music. After attending Gustavus Adolphus College, where she was a member of the college choir,

Ida moved to California at the age of 19. She went to work for Lockheed Corporation where she met the love of her life, John McAneny. Ida and John were married in 1945. Soon after, they made their home in La Crescenta, California where they adopted and raised two daughters, Kathleen Ann and Kristen Estelle. Ida was devoted to her family and her church. She was involved with P.T.A. and Campfire Girls for her two daughters. She was a member of the La Crescenta Presbyterian Church and choir. Her husband John passed away in 1991 and in 2000 Ida moved to Visalia, California where she lived at Walnut Park Assisted Living home until she passed away on July 29, 2011.

She is survived by her daughters Kathi Shiver (Steve) of Kent, Washington and Kristen Weis (Douglas) of Visalia, California, her granddaughters Krissi Fudge (Jeremy), Lisa Weis, Kari Weis, and grandson Jordan Shiver.
