A car fire at a busy San Fernando Valley freeway interchange jammed rush-hour traffic as officials dealt with the incident.

A fire consumed a small truck on the northbound 170 Freeway near the 5 Freeway. The car was off to the side of lanes, and fire officials were able to quickly extinguish the flames, according to Los Angeles Fire Inspector Erik Scott. At one point, the three right lanes were shut down.

Traffic was temporarily affected about 5:30 p.m., but conditions quickly cleared up. L.A. NOW
