Vivian Boisen

Vivian was born on January 28, 1917 in Oakland, CA to Seth and Amy Hodson.

She passed away in Burbank, CA on July 25, after having suffered a stroke in April.

She grew up in the Bay area, where she met the love of her life, Martin. He had just been discharged from the Army Air Force and charmed her with his wit and good looks. They married on July 16, 1938. They moved to Burbank when Martin got a job with Lockheed Aircraft building P-38’s. The birth of Marjorie and Jack soon followed.

Both parents were involved in Boy Scouts and PTA. The family enjoyed camping trips to the High Sierras. They enjoyed many cruises and travel to England and Denmark.

After working for ten years at North American Aviation, they moved to Chula Vista, CA, where Martin joined Rohr Corp. Vivian enjoyed many years playing bridge with her Women’s Club friends. She served as Club President 1989-1990. She was also a member of the Newcomers Club. It was later called the Thursday club.

This last year, upon returning to Burbank, after the death of Marin on January 18, 2010, she enjoyed participating in the activities of the La Providencia Guild of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She also enjoyed celebrating birthdays with the Iron Gladiolas breakfast club.

Vivian was pre-deceased by her parents, brothers, Seth and Stanley Hodson and granddaughter Kimi Lin Overstreet.

She is survived by her brother, Warren Hodson of Gig Harbor, WA.; daughter, Marjorie Overstreet (Robert) of Burbank, CA, Jack Boison (Sandy) of Rogue River, OR.; grandsons, Tom Overstreet (Leslie), Robert Overstreet (Gina), Mark Overstreet, Brent Boisen and Brian Boisen (Kerry); great grandchildren, Juliana, Madelynn, and Wyatt Overstreet and Sierra, Olivia, Ryker, Jack, Zoey, and Grace Boisen.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
