Protesters unite in Burbank in support of Verizon worker strike

Share

Protesters lined up outside the Verizon store on Victory Place in Burbank Monday in support of 45,000 workers who are on strike on the East Coast because the company wants employees to begin paying for healthcare coverage.

Currently, employees do not pay for their healthcare benefits.

Strikers also claim Verizon wants to freeze pensions, cut paid holidays and continue to outsource jobs to foreign countries.

The dispute does not affect the company’s wireless division.
