Dueling media outlets in La Cañada Flintridge

As I’ve mentioned before, my wife and I work for competing media outlets. In my role as Times Community News editor, I oversee the La Cañada Valley Sun in addition to the Pasadena Sun, the Glendale News-Press and Burbank Leader.

Donna is the local editor for the La Cañada Flintridge Patch, a local news website owned by AOL.

Like any couple, we have ground rules in place to keep conflicts from cropping up. So far, they’ve worked incredibly well. Even last night, when Donna and I trekked up to La Cañada for the next-to-last “Concert in the Park” show. Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic rocked out the stage in Memorial Park, while the two of us showed off our respective alliances.

There’s a column in here somewhere. I can feel it.
