Area food banks benefit from Glendale car dealer

Share

Acura of Glendale donated nearly $10,000 to food banks in the tri-city area as part of its “Drive to Stop Hunger” campaign, the company announced.

The food banks for Salvation Army Glendale, Burbank Temporary Aid Center and Salvation Army Pasadena benefited from the campaign, which also funneled food donations collected at the dealership from employees and the public.

Money for the donation was from proceeds of car sales and services at the dealer on Aug. 6.

The donation comes as area food bank report continues shortages amid sustained high demand from clients who continue to struggle financially.

“In this time of great need for those more unfortunate in our communities, I encourage other businesses to host a special day to benefit the ‘Drive to Stop Hunger,’” said Jeanne Brewer, general manager of Acura of Glendale and president of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce.
