A man broke down the front door of his mother’s house in Burbank Saturday afternoon, resulting in the evacuation of two nearby homes, before being tasered and arrested, officials said.

Burbank Police officers arrested Corey Petrie, 26, after getting an report from his mother, who said Petrie had a knife in his hands. Officers confronted Petrie in the back bedroom of the house in the 600 block of North Griffith Park Drive, asking neighbors on both side to leave temporarily to cut off any escape.

Police said they believe Petrie was involved in an incident Friday evening at Orchard Supply Hardware, where a unidentified person at the store was hospitalized after suffering an eye injury. Investigations are continuing in both cases, they said.
