Glendale-based IHOP has released a statement on the shooting deaths at a restaurant in Nevada, calling the killings tragic and “senseless.”

Four people have been reported dead, including a gunman, after a shooting this morning in a strip mall parking lot and that spilled into an IHOP in Carson City, Nevada. The confirmed total of those who died in the shooting wasn’t immediately available, although news reports put the number between 9 and 13.

After the rampage, police say, the shooter shot himself in the head; the Associated Press reported later that he had died, according to the L.A. Times.

In a statement posted on it’s corporate website, IHOP called the shooting “senseless.”

“Details of this tragic situation are still unfolding and we are waiting to learn more,” the company said. “We have offered our assistance to federal and local law enforcement, and are grateful to the emergency responders assisting on the scene. We will keep you advised as we learn more.”
