BERNARD E. MULLINS

Bernard Ellis Mullins, age 90, passed away September 1, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Mullins was born to Julia and Raymond Mullins on January 27, 1921 in Leon, Iowa. He was a Burbank resident for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Phillips) and his grandson, Tim Hall.

He graduated from East Des Moines High School in 1937 and attended Drake University.

He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II as a Heavy Machine Gunner. He received various decorations including a Purple Heart for being wounded in Luzon.

Mr. Mullins was in banking for 46 years before retiring as Vice President from American Pacific State Bank.

He belonged to Gamma Eta Kappa Fraternity for 50 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Shan Tabor in Burbank, his grandson, Terry Hall in Arizona, and two great-grandsons, Devon and Adam Hall, also residing in Arizona.
