A gunman riding a bicycle on Tuesday robbed a Glendale woman of her purse as she arrived home from visiting a friend, police said.

No arrests have been made in the robbery, which occurred about 11:50 p.m. in the 600 block of East Elk Avenue, according to Glendale police reports.

The man, who was riding a white bicycle, approached the woman as she exited her car, pulled a black semiautomatic pistol from his waist and pointed it at her, according to reports.

He demanded that she hand over her purse, and she complied, police said. After he rode away, she ran to a neighbor’s home to get help.

The gunman was described as Latino, thin, about 40 years old, 6 feet tall, with acne scars and short, dark hair and possibly a mustache. He wore dark “jogging-style” pants and a red, short-sleeved polo shirt. The bicycle was an older 10-speed with skinny tires.
