Anne Dodd Altizer

Anne Dodd Altizer was born March 28, 1923 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was the daughter of Hugh and Ida Humphries Dodd. Anne is a descendant of Martin Braun of Switzerland and Adam Braun who participated in the Revolutionary war, and William Brown of Brownstown, Pa.

In August, 1945, she married Leland Wallace Altizer and together they had three children: Sue Altizer Sprigg of Orange County; Lynda Altizer Burlison of Glendale and Leland James Altizer of Thousand Oaks, California. She and Leland also parented the late Patrick Campbell.

Anne Altizer lived in Glendale since 1949, and participated in the North Glendale Methodist Church. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and an active participant in the local PTA. She was a registered nurse for many years and was named Clinic Nurse of the year for Los Angeles County.

She died on September 11, 2011 in Glendale, California, and is survived by her husband of 66 years, 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a sister, Kathleen Dodd Miller. Private Services will be held with immediate family.
