Dorothy Marie Giedt

Dorothy Marie Giedt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at her home in Glendale on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 at 90 years of age.

Dorothy was born in Portland, Oregon on October 9th, 1920 to Peter Francis Derham and Dorothy Marie Derham and was the eldest of six children. She lived most of her

life in the Glendale, California area attending Holy Family Elementary School and graduating from Glendale High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Theodore J. Giedt, her younger brother, Paul and her great-grandchild Lucas James Leidholt.

Dorothy leaves behind four children: Susan Leidholt of Bowdle, South Dakota, Nanci Sanchez of Glendale, Lori Tong of South Pasadena and Jeff Giedt of La Crescenta. She was the adored grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of ten.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rosary will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2011, 7:00pm, at Callanan & Woods Scovern Mortuary, 511 S. Central Avenue, Glendale. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 19, 2011, 10:00am, at the Church of the Incarnation, 1001 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Interment will follow at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills, CA.
