Joe Mace
Dec 4, 1919 - Sept 16, 2011

Dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and generous and loyal friend to all who knew him. Passed away at home, with family and friends by his side. Born in Lawrence, MA, he lived in Glendale 54 years.

Joe was energetic and active throughout his 91+ years, as a jazz musician around the country, including a big band show for female impersonators in the early ‘40’s, on radio WDRC Hartford for 10 years with Otto Newbar, and a years-long gig with the Tiny Quinn Band at Sound View in Connecticut where his wife and 3 children joined him each year for summer, owner/operator of a high-end custom design furniture business, manager of the Glendale Moose little league team (earning a Foothill Little League championship). He enjoyed his years with the little leaguers so much, that he continued his participation for several years after his son left the league. For the last 25 years of his life, he managed several apartment complexes. He loved driving his fancy Dodge Charger with that spunky Hemi engine, right up to his sudden illness in March of this year.

Joe’s favorite saying was “This is the greatest day of my life”, whenever he was with family. He had many “greatest” days in his life. Joe leaves behind his wife Jenny of 72 years, daughters Sandra and Lucille, son Tommy, grandchildren Pamela, DeAnna, Joey, Gina, Angie, Jonathan, great-grandchildren Tinella, Garrett, Joseph, Thomas, Justin, Samantha, Markel, brother Freddy, sisters Millie and Mary, and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.
