Gas main repair in Glendale could take hours, police close off intersections

Share

Firefighters estimate that it could take up to three hours to cap a gas leak that has prompted the evacuation of apartments near Stocker and Campbell streets.

Police have blocked off four intersections at Stocker Street to Louise and Jackson streets, and Campbell Street to Dryden and Loraine streets.

A construction crew cut the gas line earlier today, sending fumes directly into a nearby residential building.

Some residents were asked to evacuate as a precaution while firefighters worked on the gas line, officials said. Others were asked to stay indoors.
