Hours after officers shot and killed a Rosamond man during a gun battle Friday on San Fernando Road, police said residents reported separate gunfire roughly two miles away.

Detectives are still investigating the second shooting, which occurred about 6:36 p.m. on the 600 block of South Belmont Street, according to Glendale police reports.

No injuries or damage were reported in the shooting, but police found 15 9mm-ammunition casings on the street.

No one has been arrested and no suspects have been identified in connection with the shooting, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

The shooting, he said, is not related to the earlier incident involving two officers who killed 38-year-old Antonio Tafolla-Diaz, who fired numerous rounds at them about 2:30 a.m. on San Fernando Road at Glendale Avenue.

In the second shooting, witnesses told police that they had seen a dark-colored SUV fleeing Belmont after the shots were fired.

Anyone with information about the shooting may call the Glendale Police Department Robbery Unit at (818) 548-3987 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
