A second burglary suspect turned himself into authorities Tuesday after discovering that police were searching for him, officials said.

Brian Gonzalez, 22, contacted police after hearing that they were looking for him and they advised that he turn himself in, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said. He later gave himself up to authorities.

He is expected to appear Oct. 12 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Burbank in connection with burglary charges.

Police said Gonzalez and John Livingston, 19, burglarized a home on the 3400 block of Sierra Vista Drive on Sept. 29 and were seen running through backyards.

The pair also tried to dump a bag containing jewelry and burglary tools, police said.

Livingston was arrested at the scene, but officials said Gonzalez escaped a police perimeter.

The pair have family ties to Sunland and Tujunga, but police said they mostly live in motels.

Police said Gonzalez and Livingston often carried backpacks and looked for homes to burglarize. They usually pried a window or door open to enter the homes, police said.
