Schiff offers support for growing ‘Occupy’ movement

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) today stepped into the “Occupy Wall Street” fray, calling the growing movement a culmination of “shared frustration” over “reckless decision-making” that led the nation into the current economic morass.

In a statement issued by his office, Schiff said the protests -- which have spread to locations in Los Angeles, Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley -- “raise legitimate concerns, and policymakers need to respond by continuing to focus on ways to foster an economy that offers stability and economic security for the middle class, and the opportunity for all to succeed.”

Democrats have started to embrace the “Occupy” movement as it spreads across the nation, with key Congressional leaders offering tepid statements of support on Capitol Hill in recent days.
