Schiff to sponsor job fair

Unemployed workers and small-business owners struggling to stay afloat will get an opportunity to learn about government and community resources available to them at a small-business and career fair Thursday.

The event, sponsored by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank), will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Glendale Pacific Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Ave.

It will include workshops conducted by various government agencies including the Small Business Administration and Office of Personnel Management.

The Small Business Administration recently announced that 13 private lenders have committed to increase small-business lending by a combined $20 billion over the next three years.
