A friend and classmate passes

My heart is heavy after learning that one of the best athletes to ever come out of Hoover High School, Hector Lopez, passed away.

I had the pleasure of going to school with Hector and was cheering for him in the 1984 Olympics.

May you rest in peace. I’m a better person for knowing you.
