County issues red flag fire warning

The Los Angeles County Fire Department has issued a red flag warning over the next two weeks as strong northeast winds are expected to roll into the region.

The warning starts at 10 p.m. tonight and lasts until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. The department cautions that brush areas, mountains and canyons are especially susceptible to fire danger during this time.

Residents near brush areas are being asked to report smoke immediately to a local fire department and have an evacuation plan in place.
