Police to present star-studded safe-driving DVD at La Salle

The Pasadena Police Department will sponsor a presentation of the DVD “Our Time” as part of its Teen Driving Safety and Awareness campaign Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at La Salle High School.

This program utilizes scenes from top Hollywood movies, actors, recording artists and celebrities to emphasize the importance of safe driving and highlight dangers including drinking and driving, texting and talking on cell phones.

Artists who appear in the video include Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Johnny Depp and Martin Lawrence, with music by Nickelback, Avril Lavigne, Kanye West and others.

This program, presented in partnership with Motivational Media Assemblies, will be presented at other public and private Pasadena high schools throughout the school year.

Funding comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
