Local unemployment figures dip
Local unemployment figures in October dipped across the tri-city region based on job gains in several industries, including hospitality and business services.
The jobless rate in Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena dropped 0.3%, according to data released today by the California Economic Development Department.
In Burbank, the unemployment rate dropped to 9.7% in October, in Glendale, the rate was 10.4% and in Pasadena, the rate dipped to 9.1%.
Statewide, the unemployment rate was 11.7 % in October, down slightly from 11.9% in September.
In the LaCrescenta-Montrose area, the jobless figure edged down to 5.9% in October from 6.1% in September, according to the state. La Cañada Flintridge saw its unemployment rate drop to 4.6% from 4.8%.
In South Pasadena and San Marino, the unemployment rates were 5.9% and 5.4%, respectively.
