Commercial fire in Burbank spreads to house

Share

A commercial fire that spread to an adjacent house Monday night in Burbank caused an estimated $44,000 in damage, officials said.

Burbank firefighters responded to the fire at about 5 p.m. Monday at Niagara Street and Olive Avenue, with billowing smoke visible across Burbank and North Hollywood. The fire also threatened overhead power and phone lines.

After knocking down much of the blaze, firefighters determined that the fire involved a couple of propane tanks and that it had spread to the eve of an adjacent house. No injuries were reported.

The exact cause of the fire remained under investigation.
