Hundreds of Glendale utility customers still in the dark

Share

Three hundred Glendale Water & Power customers remain without power this morning as crews worked around the clock to repair badly damaged utility poles, officials said.

While no major damage was reported during the second round of wind gusts, customers had to survive through the night without power, which in some cases may not be fully restored until Sunday, according to city spokesman Tom Lorenz.

Some permanent repairs will require additional outages, he added.

Several parks, including Verdugo Skate Park, Glendale Sports Complex, Casa Adobe and Scholl Canyon Fields, remain closed for repairs.

As of Friday morning power to six La Crescenta schools—who held school without electricity yesterday—had been restored.

Power was restored to a small group of customers in Burbank yesterday.
