Crews continued Friday to restore power to thousands of residents in Arcadia and Temple City, two of the areas hardest hit by this week’s record high winds.

As of 7:17 a.m., more than 14,000 customers were without power in Arcadia, according to Southern California Edison. An additional 9,000 were without power in Temple City.

Edison expects that thousands of residents will get their power back Friday.

As of 7 a.m., Edison tweeted that 140,000 customers remained without power, down from 151,000 at 4 a.m.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Friday morning that 94,000 DWP customers remain without power. He added that 122,000 customers have had their power restored.

He said all customers should expect power to return in the next 24 to 48 hours.
